Short answer: Indeed's average accountant salary in Dubai is AED 3,793 a month (updated 29 October 2026, about 4,000 salaries reported), with a typical range of AED 2,013–7,147 a month. Senior accountants average AED 5,792 a month and finance managers AED 12,118. In Dubizzle ads still listed on 5 November 2026, the entry jobs sit in the AED 2,000–3,999 and AED 4,000–5,999 brackets, and the three ads asking for three or more years all name UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
You have two tabs open. One says a Dubai accountant earns under AED 4,000 a month; the other says a junior accountant starts at AED 10,000–15,000. You are deciding whether to take an offer, ask for more, or move here at all.
This guide explains the gap, gives you the ladder by job title, and walks through six live ads so you can see what employers ask for at each experience level.
Because they measure different things. Indeed says its figure is based on salaries "taken from job postings on Indeed in the past 36 months", so it covers every employer advertising there, large and small, over three years.
The high numbers come from recruiters. HiringJet's guide, quoting Michael Page's 2026 salary guide, puts a junior accountant at AED 10,000–15,000 a month at SMEs and AED 14,000–18,000 at multinationals. That describes the roles a recruiter places people into, not the average ad you will answer.
Some salary pages also switch between yearly and monthly figures from one table to the next. Every figure here is AED per month, with its source and date.

| Job title | Average a month | Typical range a month | Salaries reported | Updated |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accounts Assistant | AED 3,109 | AED 1,646–5,873 | 366 | 28 Oct 2026 |
| Junior Accountant | AED 3,166 | AED 1,998–5,017 | 741 | 28 Oct 2026 |
| Accountant | AED 3,793 | AED 2,013–7,147 | about 4,000 | 29 Oct 2026 |
| Senior Accountant | AED 5,792 | AED 2,993–11,209 | about 1,200 | 29 Oct 2026 |
| Chief Accountant | AED 9,104 | AED 4,374–18,949 | 80 | 23 Oct 2026 |
| Accounting Manager | AED 9,346 | AED 4,871–17,932 | 41 | 27 Oct 2026 |
| Financial Controller | AED 11,134 | AED 5,723–21,663 | 74 | 28 Oct 2026 |
| Finance Manager | AED 12,118 | AED 6,597–22,258 | 327 | 26 Oct 2026 |
At the junior end, Accounts Assistant and Junior Accountant both average just over AED 3,100 a month, and their ranges overlap heavily (AED 1,646–5,873 and AED 1,998–5,017). Indeed's typical range for a senior accountant salary in Dubai runs from AED 2,993 to 11,209 a month, so the title alone tells you little.
Above AED 9,000, three of the four figures rest on fewer than 100 salaries (Chief Accountant 80, Accounting Manager 41, Financial Controller 74); treat the Accounting Manager figure as rough. For what each level does day to day, see accountant duties and responsibilities in the UAE.
Dubizzle shows pay in fixed brackets, not exact offers, so read each as "somewhere in this band". All five below were listed with no closed notice on 5 November 2026, and we left out ads that restrict gender or nationality.
| Bracket a month | Role, employer | Experience asked | What the ad names |
|---|---|---|---|
| AED 2,000–3,999 | Junior Accounts Executive, Master Skip Services LLC | 0–1 year | "Tally Knowledge mandatory"; accommodation, visa, health insurance |
| AED 4,000–5,999 | Accounts Assistant, confidential, Business Bay | 0–1 year | "suitable fresh graduates may also apply"; MS Excel and Microsoft Office; accommodation, visa, health insurance |
| AED 4,000–5,999 | Accountant, Emiratesauto Traders LLC | "Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience in the UAE" | "Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns"; UAE Corporate Tax |
| AED 6,000–7,999 | Senior Accountant, Mamaesh Pastry | "Minimum 5 years" | "UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, payroll, and WPS"; Xero preferred |
| AED 8,000–11,999 | General Accountant, Pan Gulf International DWC LLC | "Minimum 3–5 years" | "Prepare and review VAT returns"; "UAE VAT and Corporate Tax" |
The sixth is on Layboard: BELARIX Technical Services L.L.C. (posted 3 September 2026) states "Salary: AED 5,500–8,000" for "3+ years of accounting experience" and "UAE VAT & Corporate Tax knowledge".
The two entry ads (0–1 year) ask for Tally (Master Skip Services: "Tally Knowledge mandatory") or MS Excel and Microsoft Office (the Business Bay ad); neither mentions VAT. All four ads asking for three years or more name UAE VAT and Corporate Tax; two ask you to prepare the VAT return yourself, and the Mamaesh Pastry ad adds payroll and WPS.
Experience and work rise together, so no single skill explains the pay. But the requirements are specific:
Titles mislead. An Accountant ad from Emiratesauto Traders asking for 3–5 years of UAE experience sits in the same AED 4,000–5,999 bracket as the Business Bay Accounts Assistant ad that is open to fresh graduates.
Ads asking for three or more years name UAE VAT and Corporate Tax; one also asks for payroll and WPS and prefers Xero.

It can. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) classifies workers into nine professional levels, and the UAE government portal lists four conditions for work to count as skilled, including: "The monthly salary (excluding commission) of the worker must not be less than AED 4,000."
The others are a job at one of the first five levels, a certificate higher than the secondary certificate (or an equivalent certificate), and attestation of that certificate by the competent authorities (u.ae, updated 12 August 2026). Gulf News (8 September 2026) notes the classification matters "particularly when applying for work permits, processing residency visas or hiring skilled professionals".
The AED 2,000–3,999 ad above sits below that line. So do Indeed's Accounts Assistant and Junior Accountant averages, and the AED 3,793 accountant average falls just short.
This is a classification line, not a minimum wage. Before you accept, ask which occupation the employer will register for you: Gulf News notes that "employees can usually find their skill level listed on their labour contract and labour card as an occupation code."
Ask for basic salary and allowances separately, in writing. Gulf News (updated 22 October 2026) explains that end-of-service gratuity is "21 days' basic salary for each year of service during their first five years" and "30 days' basic salary" per year after that, calculated on your "last basic salary". The UAE government portal sets out the same rule under Article 51 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021.
So two offers with the same monthly total can leave you with different gratuity. A higher basic is worth more when you leave.
Then read the benefit lines. Both entry ads above list accommodation, a company visa and health insurance, and the Pan Gulf ad lists a company visa and health insurance; the Emiratesauto and Mamaesh ads list none of these. If an ad lists no accommodation, rent comes out of that figure.
The UAE government portal is plain about tax: "The UAE does not levy income tax on individuals."
When the numbers make sense, prepare for the meeting with our accountant interview questions for Dubai.
Two ads (the Business Bay one and BELARIX) prefer candidates already in the UAE, and three ask for UAE experience: Emiratesauto Traders requires it, while Mamaesh Pastry and Pan Gulf prefer it. That local experience is the one thing you cannot bring with you.
Price rent where you would live before you compare an offer with your current pay. Our guide on how to become an accountant in Dubai covers the route in, and part-time accounting jobs in Dubai covers the other side of the market.
Indeed's Junior Accountant average in Dubai is AED 3,166 a month (741 salaries, updated 28 October 2026). In two Dubizzle accountant ads for 0–1 year of experience that Sarmat checked on 5 November 2026, one sat in the AED 2,000–3,999 bracket and the other in AED 4,000–5,999.
AED 5,000 a month is above Indeed's Dubai accountant average of AED 3,793 (updated 29 October 2026). It also meets the AED 4,000 monthly salary condition, one of four conditions the UAE government portal lists for work to count as skilled. In Dubizzle ads checked on 5 November 2026, the AED 4,000–5,999 bracket covered both a fresh-graduate role with accommodation and a 3–5-year role preparing VAT returns, so compare the work and the benefits, not just the figure.
Indeed's Dubai average for a financial controller is AED 11,134 a month, with a typical range of AED 5,723–21,663, from only 74 salaries (updated 28 October 2026). Treat it as a rough guide, because the sample is small.
There is no personal income tax on salaries in the UAE: the UAE government portal states, "The UAE does not levy income tax on individuals." Corporate Tax applies to businesses, not to your salary.
In a Dubizzle ad for a General Accountant at Pan Gulf International DWC LLC (AED 8,000–11,999 a month, checked on 5 November 2026), an ACCA, CPA or CMA qualification is listed as "an advantage", not a requirement. Our guide on whether you need ACCA to work in Dubai covers what the qualification changes.
